Ground Beef Stroganoff
An easy, inexpensive meal to fix and makes great leftovers.
ingredients
- 1 lb ground chuck
- 1 small onion (diced or sliced)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- can of cream of mushroom soup
- 3/4 cup (6 oz) sour cream
directions
- 1
In a saucepan or sauté pan that has a lid, on high heat, brown ground chuck and onion until there is no more pink in the meat. Drain off excess liquid fat.
- 2
Reduce heat to medium and add garlic, salt, pepper and mushroom soup. Stir until ingredients are mixed and reduce heat to simmer. Cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, about 20 minutes.
- 3
While mixture is simmering, fill a 2 or 3 quart saucepan about 2/3 full of water. Add a few drops of olive oil and turn burner on to high heat.
- 4
Once water is boiling, add a handful and a half of noodles per serving. Read noodle package to see how long to boil.
- 5
When mixture is finished simmering, remove lid and add sour cream. Stir until mixture is heated through but do not boil.
- 6
Drain noodles. Put noodles on plate and spoon mixture over noodles.
- 7
This meal is great with peas. LOL!!
