These are my favorite Austrian Christmas cookies.
ingredients
- 10 dkg butter
- 7 dkg sugar
- 1 egg yoke
- 15 dkg flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 pkg vanilla sugar
- Filling:
- 1 egg white
- 8 dkg sugar
- 8 dkg ground nuts
- 8 dkg ground figs
- 1 pkg vanilla sugar
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 1 heaping T apricot marmalade
- juice from 1/3 lemon
directions
Heat filling ingredients. Cool completely, fold in egg white. Add other ingredients in a large bowl. Mix with a wooden spoon. Chill dough. Roll dough and cut with 2 inch biscuit cutter. Add filling to rounds and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 23 minutes.
