Lolo says these are wonderful fat ginger cookies!
ingredients
- 1/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1 1/2 cups dark molasses
- 2/3 cup cold water
- 6 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. ginger
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
directions
Mix shortening, sugar and molasses thoroughly. Stir in water. Blend all dry ingredients and stir in. Chill the dough. Roll 1/2 inch thick on floured board. Place far apart on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes. These cookies can be frosted.
