ingredients

  • 1 c. peanut butter
  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 (16 oz.) box powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 T. shortening

directions

    In a medium bowl, mix peanut butter, margarine, powdered sugar and vanilla.

    Roll mixture into 1 inch balls. Put on wax paper and refrigerate 50 minutes.

    Melt chocolate morsels and shortening in double boiler over medium heat.

  • 4

    When balls have cooled, use a toothpick and dip each ball halfway in melted chocolate to resemble a buckeye.

  • 5

    Set on wax paper again and refrigerate. Store in refrigerator until ready to eat. Buckeyes freeze well.
