Mom's Seafood Chowder

Mom has made this chowder for years. The longer it sits, the better it gets.

ingredients

  • Onions - diced
  • Potatoes - chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • Pickapepper Sauce - a few shakes
  • Old Bay seasoning - a few more shakes
  • Salt & pepper
  • Butter
  • Sherry - Optional
  • Milk
  • Half & half
  • Seafood combinations depend on what you like:
  • Shrimp
  • Clams
  • Oysters
  • Fish (Haddock or Halibut)
  • Lobster
  • Crab meat
  • Scallops

directions

  • 1

    Melt the butter and then saute the onions. Add the potatoes, milk, cream, pickapepper, old bay and salt and pepper.

    DO NOT BOIL

  • 3

    Add the seafood. Simmer but do not boil!!
