Betty's Cornbread Dressing
ingredients
- 1 Package Self Rising Cornbread Mix
- 1 Onion (Chopped)
- 5 - 6 Stalks of Celery
- 1 1/2 tsp Sage
- 1 1/2 tsp Poultry Seasoning
- Salt and Pepper
- 2 Eggs
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 2 Cans Chicken Broth
- 2 Slices of Bread

Prepare cornbread as directed on package.

In saucepan, saute celery and onion in butter. Cook until tender then remove from heat.

In a large bowl, crumble cornbread and add celery, onion, sage, poultry seasoning, salt and pepper.

In small bowl, beat eggs with milk. Soak bread and then pour into cornbread mixture. Add chicken broth - mixture should be “sloppy” (not too thick or too thin). Pour into buttered dish.

Bake at 325° for 1 hour.
