Baked Custard

One of Beth’s favorite desserts.

ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

    Combine all ingredients and mix with a wire whisk. Pour into six custard cups until about half full, place in pan and fill with boiling water to half of the cups’ height. Bake in 350 degree oven until “set”. (This will take at least 30 minutes--keep checking.) Remove from water bath immediately and let cool on wire rack until room temperature.
