Calico Beans
ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound cut up bacon
- 1 cup chopped onions
- 1+ cloves minced garlic, “kick it up a notch”
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons vinegar
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2-15 oz. cans pork and beans
- 1-15 oz. can lima beans, drained
- 1-15.5 oz can kidney beans, rinsed and drained

Cook and drain ground beef; set aside. Cook bacon until crisp; remove with slotted spoon. Cook onion and garlic in bacon fat until soft. Stir in next six ingredients. Mix everything together. Pace in a large baking dish. Bake 350˚, uncovered, 1 hour.

***Sometimes I freeze half of it before I cook it. Don’t forget to thaw it and cook it before serving :-)
