ingredients

  • 3 28 oz. cans of Tomato Puree
  • 3 28 oz. cans of Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 6 oz. can of Tomato Paste
  • 1 large Onion
  • 3 cloves of minced garlic
  • 1/8 cup of Dried Parsley
  • 1/8 cup of Dried Basil
  • 1 Tablespoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • salt and pepper to taste

directions

Dice onion to desired size. Saute on medium high heat in large stock pot with olive oil. Reduce heat to medium and add garlic. Saute until onions are almost clear. Add tomatoes, herbs and seasoning. Bring to boil and reduce heat to low. Cook for 2-3 hours covered, stirring occassionally.

notes

We omit the Locatelli cheese and instead add at time of plating. Mason doesn't like to add any cheese!!!
