SLOW COOKED GREEN BEANS
ingredients
- 4 lb fresh green beans
- 1 medium onion
- 6 strips bacon cut in 1/2 pieces
- water to cover
- red pepper flakes
- Salt to taste
- Black peppercorns

Trim and cut beans to desired length. Fry bacon crisp and reserve. Saute onion and add green beans to pot. Cover beans with water and bring to simmer. Add red pepper flakes and season to taste. Cook until tender.
