French Toast Egg Breakfast
This meal comes from the kitchen of Charlene Thurman. It is an easy make-ahead breakfast when you have a group for breakfast.
ingredients
- 1 lb thinly sliced ham (deli sliced ham is perfect)
- 2 lbs grated cheddar cheese
- 1 dozen eggs
- 16-20 slices of french bread - remove crusts
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 cups milk
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- salt & pepper
directions

Butter one side of bread. Place 1/2 of bread slices in 9’ x 13" pan, butter side up. Top with ham and cheese. Top with the rest of the bread. Beat remaining ingredients & pour over bread. Gently lift sections making sure mixture gets to the bottom of the pan. Cover & refrigerate 4-6 hours or overnight.

Bake for 1 hour at 350°.

Serve with syrup.

This is a great make ahead brunch, especially with overnight guests. Serve it with fresh fruit, juice & coffee and you have a company meal with little morning fuss.
