Porch Swing French Toast
This is from a bed and breakfast in Wyoming.
ingredients
- 2 tbls butter
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1 8 oz can crushed pineapple
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbls grated orange zest
- 1/2 teas vanilla
- 1/4 teas nutmeg
- 1 loaf of french bread cut into 1 inch slices
- 1/2 cup of chopped pecans
- TOPPING:
- 1/4 cup soft butter
- 1 teas light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans
directions
The night before, melt butter in a 9 x 13 inch pan and place bread in pan. Combine all ingredients and pour over bread. Combine topping ingredients except nuts. Spread top over bread. Sprinkle with nuts. Cover and refrigerate. Preheat oven to 350 and bake for 40 minutes.
