ingredients

  • 1 cup celery
  • 4 medium onions
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 2 cans kidney beans
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 8 ox can tomato sauce
  • 2 16 oz cans whole tomatoes with juice
  • 2 T Chili powder
  • 2 T Cumin
  • 1 t cinnamon
  • 1 t allspice
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 t ground cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Tabasco sauce (to taste)

    Saute celery, onions and hamburger meat in oil until meat is thoroughly cooked. Drain this mixture and add kidney beans.

    In large pan add tomato paste and tomato sauce to meat/bean mixture. Heat for 15 minutes (or until it boils).

    Add whole tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, and a spice bag containing cinnamon, allspice, finely chopped garlic, cloves, bay leaves. Add a few drops of tabasco sauce. Cook on low/medium heat for 2 hours.
