Walnut Balls
Great with gravy or plain, especially for holiday meals.
ingredients
- 1 onion, minced
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 4 c fresh breadcrumbs
- 1 c ground walnuts
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp rubbed sage
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- 1/2 tsp basil
- 1/2 c celery, minced
- 1/4 c fresh parsley, minced
- 1 c boiled water or vegetable stock
directions
Saute onion in oil until limp. Place in a large mixing bowl and stir in the breadcrumbs, walnuts, and seasonings. Add just enough water (stock) to moisten the mixture to shape into 2" balls. Place on an oiled baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until crispy and brown.
