Shrimp Pilaf
ingredients
- 6 oz (1 cup) bacon
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 28oz can chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1 1/2 cup white rice
- 1 1/2 lb shrimp, uncooked but shelled
directions

1. Cook bacon then chop; save bacon grease
- 2
2. Saute the onion and pepper in bacon grease
- 3
3. Add can of chopped tomatoes, salt, water, rice
- 4
4. Add bacon

5. Heat to a boil and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes
- 6
6. Thaw shrimp and remove tail

7. Lay on top of rice

8. Cover and cook 15 more minutes
notes
Make sure there is enough liquid while cooking the pilaf. Especially when adding the shrimp
