Sopressata Ring
ingredients
- 3/4c chopped onion
- 1 Tbs. vegetable oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Oregano
- 2 packages prepared pizza crust
- 1lb Sopressata
- 3/4lb provolone cheese
- 1 egg white, beaten

Preheat oven to 400°

Heat oil over medium heat in skillet until hot

Add garlic, onion and oregano

Cook and stir 3-4 minutes or until onion is crisp/tender

Remove pan from heat

Unroll 1 pizza crust onto lightly floured surface

Roll crust to 12x9" rectangle

Layer 1/2 sopressata, cheese and 1/2 of onion mixture to within 1/2" of the edges of the dough

Starting at longest side of rectangle, roll up dough (jelly roll fashion)

Press seam together to seal

Repeat with remaining crust and filling ingredients

Place rolls seam side down on pizza stone, join ends together to form ring and press ends to seal

Brush ring with beaten egg/water combo

Sprinkle with remaining oregano

Bake 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
