Blackberry Grunt

ingredients

  • 8 cups fresh berries (blueberries
  • raspberries, blackberries)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup red wine
  • 1 T. grated lemon zest
  • Dough:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 2 T. butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 T sugar mixed with 1 tsp cinnamon

Spoon warm grunt into serving bowls and top with ice cream or whipped cream.
