Chicken and Dressing

ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken cooked until done and deboned (save chicken broth)
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 stalks of celery
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 to 2 pans of cornbread cooled and crumbled
  • 4 slices of while bread (stale and crumpled)
  • 1 can of cream of chicken soup
  • Salt and pepper
  • Sage is optional

directions

Put cornbread and white bread in large baking pan. Saute 1 diced large onion and diced celery until softened. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Put onion and celery into cornbread. Beat the eggs and combine with cornbread, white bread and vegetables. Mix thoroughly and then mix in cream of chicken soup. Next put in chicken and stir in chicken broth until soupy. Bake at 400 until top is firm and browned.
