Gram's Vegetable Soup

ingredients

  • 2 lbs. chuck roast or stew meat, plus soup bones
  • 3/4 cups each celery, onion,
  • Can chopped tomatoes, “smushed up”
  • Salt and pepper
  • Carrots
  • Green beans
  • 1/2 head cabbage
  • 1/2 package frozen peas
  • 1/2 package frozen green beans
  • 2 large potatoes
  • Handful noodles
  • Packet dry onion soup mix
  • 1 bay leave
  • Thyme
  • Lima beans (optional)

directions

Brown meat, bones, celery, onions, salt, and pepper. Add tomatoes and soup mix’ cover with water and cook for one hour. And carrots and cabbage and cook another hour. Add peas, green beans, potatoes, and noodles; cook one more hour.
