Sweet Dill Pickles
First day: scrub pickles cut in half lengthwise pour boiling water over them Leave overnight

- JUICE:
- 5 c vinegar
- 6 1/2 c water
- 8 c sugar
- 6 TB salt
- 9 tsp celery seed
- 9 tsp turmeric
- 1 1/2 tsp mustard

Sterile jars and tops and lids

boil 20 minutes

set aside - keep warm

Before adding liquid to pickles put 2 tsp dill in each pint jar; 4 tsp for each quart.

process in hot water bath 5 minutes

Makes enough for 6 pints of pickles
notes
clean neck of jar with clean cloth. Leave 1 inch space from top, tighten rim, snug, not tight.
