Fig Preserves
I have always enjoyed these at the cabin, with butter biscuits or toast. I like them especially because Chick makes them and they’re always on hand. ~ Summer
ingredients
- Several pounds of fresh figs
- Several cups sugar
- Sliced lemon

Wash figs. Keep stems on.

Place figs in a heavy boiler and put lots of sugar on top. At very low heat, cook figs and sugar until figs become soft and sugar melts. Add in sliced lemons.

Preserves will be syrupy and thick.

Remove from heat and cool. Pack preserves into sterilized jars. Either refrigerate and serve immediately or seal and can for seasons to come!
