German Sweet-Sour Beans
Vicki likes this recipe of mom’s. Good with pork chops.
ingredients
- 2 strips bacon
- 1 cup minced onion
- 1 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 cup bean liquid
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 9 oz. pkg. frozen cut up green beans. cooked (reserve liquid), or 1 can (1 lb.) green beans drained.
directions
Brown bacon until crisp. Remove bacon. Sauté onion in bacon fat until yellow. Stir in flour. Add liquids and seasonings; bring to boil. Stir in beans. Heat through. Sprinkle with crisp bacon bits.
