German Sweet-Sour Beans

ingredients

2 strips bacon
1 cup minced onion
1 Tbsp. flour
1/2 cup bean liquid
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup vinegar
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 9 oz. pkg. frozen cut up green beans. cooked (reserve liquid), or 1 can (1 lb.) green beans drained.

directions

Brown bacon until crisp. Remove bacon. Sauté onion in bacon fat until yellow. Stir in flour. Add liquids and seasonings; bring to boil. Stir in beans. Heat through. Sprinkle with crisp bacon bits.
