Decadent French Toast
This is a great dish to serve for brunch. All of the work happens the night before.
ingredients
- 10 Tb Butter
- 2 Cups Brown Sugar
- 4 Tb Dark Corn Syrup
- 1 Cup Milk
- 10 Eggs
- 2 T Vanilla
- 2 Loaves French Bread, sliced 2-inch thick
- 1 Pint Whipped Cream
- Pecans, chopped
- 1 Pint Strawberries, sliced

1. Cook corn syrup, butter, and brown sugar until bubbly. Pour into a 13x9 baking dish and generously sprinkle chopped pecans over the syrup mixture. Arrange 2" slices of french bread over the mixture.

2. Beat together eggs, milk, and vanilla. Pour over the bread and refrigerate overnight.

3. Bake at 350 for 45 min.and invert on serving platter.

4. Serve with cream and strawberries.
notes
A nonstick pan makes life easier. Watch closely, you don't want it to get too brown. Serve with strawberries and cream, or Peach Melba.
