Kathy's Salsa
Alex and Brian and Lisa all have learned to make it too - with their own variations.
ingredients
- 1 large can of whole or diced tomatoes. Don’t use Contadina brand or anything pureed -too pasty. I use always use Meijer brand.
- 3-4 cloves garlic
- 1-2 bunches of scallions
- 1-2 large jalapeno’s (about the size of a man’s thumb) or 3-4 serrano peppers
- juice of 1 small lime or 1/2 large lime (I have substituted white vinegar in a pinch)
- salt - about 1/2 to 1 tbsp.
- fresh ground pepper - about 1/2 tsp.
- 3-4 dashes of cumin - go easy - too much overpowers the other flavors.

notes
I invented this recipe more than 15 years ago because I was too cheap to buy jarred salsa. They never could compare anyway! I still make it 2-3 times a month. You could also substitue fresh cilantro for the cumin. I never do - Adam hates cilantro. Ho
