Barbie's Tabbouleh Recipe!
I have always liked Tabbouleh but for some reason the store bought is so overdone with lemon... too tangy! Try this recipe... it is wonderful!
ingredients
- 1 cup Bulgar wheat
- 1 1/2 cups boiling water
- 1/4 cup bottled Italian dressing
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/4 cup good olive oil
- 1/2 to 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 bunch green onions, use whole onion
- 1 cup chopped mint leaves
- 1 cup chopped cilantro or parsley
- 1 seedless cucumber, seeded and diced
- 2 cups grape tomatoes, halved
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon cracked pepper

Place Bulgar in large bowl, add boiling water, Italian dressing, olive oil and lemon juice, salt and pepper. Stir and then allow to set at room temperature for about an hour.

Add all the other ingredients, cover and refrigerate for several hours for flavors to develop, the longer it sits the better the flavor.
