Turkey or Chicken Chili

ingredients

  • 2-3 lbs. ground turkey or 3 lbs. boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 onions chopped
  • 2-3 cloves garlic
  • 3-tbsp.chili powder
  • 2 tsp. cumin
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tbsp.+ coriander
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 28 oz. canned tomatoes
  • 3 tbsp.tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp. lime juice
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 green pepper chopped or I red pepper
  • 4 carrots sliced
  • 3 stalks celery chopped
  • 2 cans corn niblets undrained
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • 1 can garbanzo beans
  • 1 can black beans (optional)
  • 2-3 cans chopped chilies
  • Tabasco to taste

    Method

    Saute onions and garlic in oil

  • 3

    Add turkey or chicken and cook ‘till done

  • 4

    Add rest of ingredients except for beans and corn

  • 5

    Simmer for an hour

  • 6

    Add beans and corn at the end

    Cook 10 more minutes

    Garnish :

    Chopped parsley or cilantro

    Sour cream

    Grated cedar or jack cheese

    Tortilla chips
