7-Layer Mexican Dip
This recipe comes from John’s sister MaryAnn. It is always a hit a family gatherings and football game get-togethers.
ingredients
- 1 can (10 oz) bean dip
- 1 can (15 oz) refried beans
- 2 large ripe avocados, mashed
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 3/4 cup mayo
- 1 package taco seasoning
- Toppings:
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- 4 tomatoes, diced
- sliced black olives
- sliced green onions
- chopped cilantro
- Serve with bag of tortilla chips
directions
Mix together bean dip and refried beans. Spread on large tray. Mash avocados; add salt, lemon juice to taste. Spread on top of bean mixture. In separate bowl mix together sour cream, mayo and taco seasoning. Spread on top of avocado spread. Top with cheese and additional toppings.
notes
I generally only add half of the taco seasoning packet to taste. You can also add black beans to the bean mixture.
