Christmas Morning Cheese Souffle
My mom made this Christmas morning when I was growing up. I think I made it every single Christmas morning during my kid’s childhood years.
ingredients
- 6-8 slices white bread (crust removed,
- and cubed)
- 1/2 lb. Velvetta ~almost the whole
- box (cubed)
- 1/2 lb. sharp cheddar cheese (cubed)
- 6-8 eggs (well beaten)
- 1 Pint half & half
- 1/2 C. melted butter
- 1 C. mushrooms or bacon or sausage

1. Grease 2 qt. casserole

2. Layer bread,cheese, mushrooms, cheese.

3. Add milk, and butter to eggs and pour over layers.

4. Let stand overnight.

5. Bake in a pan of water (so the edges don’t burn) for 1 hour at 350 degrees.
