Daddy's Favorite Bananna Bread

I make one loaf with walnuts and one without, I like the texture, Dad doesn’t. If you do this, put a walnut on top of the loaf with nuts so you know which one has them.

ingredients

  • 1/2 Cup butter
  • 1 Cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 Cup fresh buttermilk
  • 2 1/4 Cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 c. mashed bananas (about 3 extra ripe bananas)
  • 1/2 c. walnuts, chopped

    Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    Step 2: In a medium mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar; add eggs and mix well.

    Step 3: Stir baking soda into buttermilk and add to mixture.

    Step 4: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder.

    Step 5: Stir in mashed bananas

    Step 6: Stir in nuts.

    Step 7: Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan.

    Step 8: Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour
