ingredients
- for gnocchi: 4 medium russet potatoes (1 3/4 lbs)
- 1 tablespoon sale
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 to 1 1/2 cups unbleached flour
- for the sauce> 4 tab. olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 2 lbs roma or pear shaped tomatoes, peeled seeded and diced
- salt and pepper
- 4 oz diced all milk mozzarella
- 1/4 cup loosely packed basil finely shredded
