Oven Caramel Corn
ingredients
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 2 sticks margarine
- 1/2 cup white corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon burnt sugar
- Sugar flavoring (optional)
- 1 teaspoon butter
- 8 quarts of popcorn
directions
Combine sugar, margarine, syrup and salt. Boil 5 minutes. Stir in flavoring and soda. Pour immediately over popped corn. Put in large pan (roaster) and place in 250° oven for 1 hour. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool. Nuts may be added before popcorn is placed in oven. Stores nicely if in tightly covered container.
