From Ina Williams and her German kitchen in Litchfield. This is for an 8" sq. pan. Double for a fluted tube pan.

ingredients

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • 2 eggs separated
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or other shortening, softened at room temperature
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/1/2 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1/1/2 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1 Tsp. flour 1 tsp. baking powder

Frozen berries work as well as fresh. Other berries may be substitued.
