“great” “Double Beach Recipe” from Mom

ingredients

  • dough:
  • 1/2 pound melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 1/4 cups flour, sifted
  • Filling:
  • 6 ounce orange marmalade
  • Six ounces apricot preserves
  • Topping:
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup white raisins

    Dough:

    Stir mixture until it forms a ball. Roll in waxed paper and refrigerate for an hour. Cut into four equal parts. Roll out each on floured waxed paper to form a rectangle.

    Filling:

    Spread orange marmalade and apricot preserves equally over dough

    Topping:

    divide mixture into four equal parts. Sprinkle mixture over four rectangles. “Then roll up each as for jelly roll” and place on greased, floured cookie sheet.

    Bake at 325 for one hour. Sprinkle with confectioners sugar. When cool, cut each into ten pieces.
