Texas Sheet Cake
A chocolate favorite.
ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 sticks butter melted
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup milk with 1 1/2 tsp. lemon juice or vinegar
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Frosting:
- 1 stick butter melted
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1 pound powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup walnuts chopped (optional)

Sift together flour, sugar, and soda. Set aside in mixing bowl. Combine melted butter, and cocoa. Add water and boil. Pour over flour mixture. Add milk, eggs, and vanilla. Pour into greased jelly roll pan and bake at 400° for 20 minutes. Make frosting and frost while warm.

Add cocoa to melted butter. Add milk. Microwave on high for 1 minute. Add powdered sugar and beat until creamy. Add vanilla and nuts if desired and spread on warm cake.

This is very easy to make and travels very well. Servings will vary depending on who is doing the cutting.
