French Toast

Christmastime in the Frank home included an annual “Christmas story pageant.” Dana, Bobbie, and Steven used to dress up as shepherds and wise men to act out the birth of Christ for their parents.

ingredients

day-old sandwich bread, cut diagonally into halves
eggs
milk
cinnamon
non-stick cooking spray/butter
powdered sugar
pancake syrup

directions

Heat a non-stick skillet to medium heat, and set bread aside.

Beat one egg in wide-rimmed bowl; add about 2 T milk, and cinnamon to taste.

When skillet is ready, spray with cooking spray or grease with butter.

Dip both sides of bread halves, one slice at a time, into egg mixture. Cook on prepared skillet until golden brown, then flip to cook on the other side.

Serve with powdered sugar and syrup.
