Marinated String Beans
Barbecue Favorite
ingredients
- 1 lb. fresh string beans
- 1 qt. boiling water
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2/3 cup vinegar
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/4 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. dried dill weed

Cut ends off string beans and put into a quart of boiling salted water. Let simmer uncovered 5 to 8 minutes or until they are cooked but still crisp.

Mix vinegar with sugar and salt. Put beans in a shallow dish and sprinkle with garlic, dry mustard, and dill weed.

Pour vinegar liquid on top and let marinate in refrigerator overnight or even up to two weeks before serving.
notes
Stir occasionally so all beans are submerged in vinegar.
