Apple Cobbler

ingredients

  • Topping:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 stick butter (melted)
  • Filling:
  • Sliced apples to fill a 9 x 13 pan
  • sprinkled with a bit of cinnamon.

    Mix dry ingredients for toppings.

  • 2

    Slice apples and place in a buttered 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle with cinnamon.

    Pour topping across apples.

  • 4

    Beat egg and add 1/2 stick melted butter. Drizzle this over the topping.

  • 5

    Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Grandma Gerry's traditional dessert. I think she made this every time we had company when we were kids, and we always loved it! The more cruncy topping the better!
