A potato accompaniment for any meal.

ingredients

  • 1-2 egg yoke(s)
  • 5 potatoes
  • 3 pkgs Crescent rolls
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/8 lb. butter
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 2-3 Tbls. Chicken Fat

directions

Peel and boil potatoes in salted water. Cook until fork goes in easily. Brown diced onions in chicken fat. Take potatoes out and drain. Mix potatoes, onions, salt, and pepper. Add enough butter to achieve desired consistency. Roll out dough using 2 triangles to make a square. Cut into 3 4x4 inch squares. Put 2 Tbls. of potato mixture in crescent square. Fold left point to right point, top and bottom over each other. Brush egg yoke on tops. Bake at temperature on the crescent roll directions until brown.

To prepare ahead of time, follow recipe, but bake until slightly browned and then freeze. Defrost in the refrigerator24 hours before serving and bake until golden brown.
