Nut and Pork Stuffing
ingredients
- 1 cup shelled walnuts
- 1 cup slivered almonds
- 1 cup macadamia nuts
- 1 cup shelled pistachios
- 2 bags (16 ounces each) herb-seasoned stuffing mix
- 3/4 to 1 lb pork sausage meat
- 8 tbsp (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped (optional)
- 3 stalks celery, thinly sliced (optional)
- 3 carrots, peeled and finely chopped
- 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
- 3 tbsp chopped fresh sage
- 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 4 cups chicken broth
