Grandma Fraser's "Tassies" (Pecan Tarts)
These are a great little dessert that remind me of visits to my Grandparents’ house, especially in winter.
ingredients
Crust- 1 3 oz. cream cheese
- 1/2 cup butter (or margarine)
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon soft butter
- dash of salt
- 1/3 cup broken pecans

To make crust:

Blend at room temperature. Chill for 1 hour. Roll into 1 inch balls and press into tart shells.

To make filling:

Blend first 5 ingredients until smooth. Add pecans. Spoon into pastry, about 1 teaspoon per cup. Bake at 325 degrees for about 25 minutes or until set.

Top with a dollop of whipped cream for a special little treat.
