Hungarian Goulash
Comfort food at its best
ingredients
- 2 lbs. Chuck or rump roast, cut into 1 inch cubes
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 small garlic clove
- 4 T veg oil
- 3/4 c catsup
- 1/4 c, plus 4 T Worchestshire sauce
- 1 t vinegar
- 1 T brown sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp paprika
- 2 t salt
- 1 t dry mustard
- dash of red pepper
- 3 cups water
directions
Brown meat in oil. Add onion and garlic. While the meat is cooking, mix together catsup, worchestshire, vinegar, sugar and spices. Add to meat mixture. Add water and simmer for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. You may thicken at the end with 2 T flour dissolved in a 1/4 c water. Serve over hot buttered noodles.
