Heidi's Sugar Cookies
ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 to 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream together butter and sugar. Blend in the egg.

Sift and add flour, baking powder, salt and vanilla.

Divide dough into two parts. Chill 1 to 2 hours so it will be easy to handle. Roll dough out, one part at a time, to 1/8 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters. Transfer to cookie sheet.

Bake at 375° for 8-10 mintues.

Very tasty when decorated and frosted with Mom's Decorating Frosting.
