Party Chicken

Just remember to add the chicken!!

ingredients

  • 5 pounds chicken
  • 2 cups white wine
  • 1 1/2 t. salt
  • 4 to 6 cups water
  • 2 packages long grain and wild rice
  • 3 ribs celery
  • 1 onion
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 T. butter
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup half and half

    Simmer chicken in the wine, water and salt until done. Let cool in broth.

    De bone chicken, discard bones and skin. Save the broth.

  • 3

    Cook the rice in 5 cups of the broth until done (25 minutes).

    Saute celery, onion, mushroom in butter until tender. Add mushroom soup, sour cream, half and half and chicken.

    Combine chicken mixture with the wild rice.

  • 6

    Bake in a large casserole 350 degrees 30 to 40 minutes.
