Green Beans with Fresh Herbs and Walnuts
serves 6-8.
ingredients
- Kosher salt and fresh ground pepper
- 3 lbs green beans
- 3 tbs unsalted butter
- 5 tbs extra virgin olive oil
- 2 large onions, sliced thin
- 2 tbs chopped fresh thyme
- 2 tbs chopped fresh chives
- 1/2 tbs chopped fresh rosemary
- 1/2 cup walnuts, rough chopped
directions
Bring pot of water to boil. Add pinch of salt and green beans. Cook about 5 minutes. Drain set aside. Melt butter and extra virgin olive oil in skillet medium heat. Add onions. Season with salt and pepper til caramelized. 20-25 minutes. Add thyme, rosemary, chives, cook another 5 minutes. Add green beans and walnuts. Season to taste. Garlic salt and thyme.
