Vermont Sausage Stuffing
Traditional Thanksgiving stuffing. It’s great with apples however we started leaving them out years ago because of Andy’s dislike of Apples.
ingredients
- 3 c prepared cornbread
- 3 c dried white bread chunks
- 1 bag Vermont sausage (sage flavored)
- 6 tbsp butter
- 1 c chopped onions
- 1 c chopped celery
- 1 tsp thyme
- 3 med apples(peeled and chopped)
- 1 1/2 c chicken stock (or to desired moistness)
- salt and pepper to taste
directions
Melt butter, saute onions and celery, crumble sausage, cook and drain. Toss crumbled cornbread, white bread chunks, applesauce and other ingredients except liquid. Add liquid to desired moistness.
notes
Can double for larger turkey.
