Pepper Steak
This is a Linda Zakin recipe from way back.
ingredients
- London Broil Steak
- Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 cup Soy sauce
- 1 1/2 tsp. Sugar
- 3 Stalks celery
- 3 Large onions sliced (or more if you like)
- 2-3 Red peppers
- 2-3 Green peppers
directions

Slice beef thin (a London Broil)

Brown in oil and season with salt & pepper

Add 1/2 cup soy sauce & 1 1/2 tsp. sugar

Cover 5 minutes (low light)

Add chopped celery (maybe 3 stalks)

Slice up onions (maybe 2), red and green peppers and add to pan (It’s very high but will cook down.)

Add 1/2-1/3 cup water

Bring slowly to boil

Cook 1 hour

In a separate bowl:

1/4 cup water

1-2 tbs. corn starch
- 13
Mix together till smooth and add in

Cook slowly—15 minutes until sauce thickens (the last 15 minutes of the hour)

Serve over rice
