Jane's Moms Spaghetti Sauce
Jane Allen gave up the secret recipe when we planned a dinner for Sherry LaRue. The dinner was a big success and the sauce was complimented by everyone.
ingredients
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 T parsley
- 1 T oregano
- 1 T basil
- 1-2 T sugar(to taste)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 onion (med to large)
- 2 16oz can diced tomatoes
- 1-2 6oz can tomato paste
- 2 15oz cans tomato sauce
- 2 lbs ground beef or sausage
- 3 T olive oil

Pour tomatoes, sauce, and paste in large pan. Add herbs and spices and allow to simmer as you prepare onions and meat.

Heat olive oil in pan over med high heat. Dice onion and add to the pan. Add salt and saute for five minutes.

Remove onions from pan and add to tomato mixture.

Brown the ground beef. Drain and add to tomato mixture. Allow to simmer for at least one to two hours.

Serve over your favorite pasta.

Start with one can of paste. If you prefer a thicker sauce add the other can.
