Ruth's Chocolate Sheet Cake
Chocolate Sheet Cake - Great for Parties
ingredients
- CAKE:
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 3 1/2 T Cocoa
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 cup water
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1/2 cup buttermilk that 1 tsp soda has been added to
- FROSTING:
- 3 1/2 T Cocoa
- 1 stick butter
- 1/2 cup sweet milk
- 1 Box Confectioners sugar
- 1 cup chopped walnuts

Stir by hand:

HEAT on stove to boiling:

Add to dry mixture. Then add 2 eggs, 1 tsp vanilla, & 1/2 cup buttermilk that 1 tsp baking soda has been added to.

Bake in greased and floured cookie sheet or jelly roll pan 20 minutes at 400.

FROSTING:

10 minutes before cake is done start the frosting:

HEAT UNTIL MELTED:

Take off stove and add 1 Box Confectioners Sugar anad 1 cup chopped nuts.

When cake is done take out of oven and frost immediately.
