Old Fashioned Steak Pizzaiola
ingredients
- 1 (2lb) top round steak for London broil, sliced 1/2 inch thick and pounded 1/4 inch thick
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1 cup dry red wine
- 2 cups Marina sauce
directions
Season the steaks on both sides with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Put the steaks in the pan and brown them on both sides. Remove from the skillet and set aside. Drain the excess oil from the pan. De glaze the pan with red wine. Reduce the wine by half. Return the steaks to the pan and add the marina sauce. Simmer the steaks, covered, until tender, about 2 hours. Remove the steaks from pan and place on a serving platter. Pour the sauce over and serve.
