Lazy-Ass Apple Pie

ingredients

  • 1 tube of crescent rolls (8 rolls)
  • a couple apples of your choice, I like Granny Smith
  • brown sugar
  • cinnamon, nutmeg, other apple pie-y spices of your choice

    Take 4 of the crescent rolls and lay them out on the bottom of a lightly greased/sprayed 8x8 square baking dish.

    The triangles should fit together to cover the bottom with little overlap. Bake at the temp recommended on the tube until the dough is very light golden brown and no longer squishy.

    Cut up the apples in slices or chunks and toss with the sugar and spices. Place in dish over the bottom crust.

    Lay the remaining 4 crescent rolls on top to cover.

    Bake until golden brown, which is usually the time recommended on the tube–about 20 minutes.

    The apples will still be fairly firm (which is how I like them). For softer apples, you can cook them first or use pre-prepped pie filling.
